TheGreenJobBank Releases New Search Technology that Detects Duplicate Job Postings
The green job search site is first to develop an algorithm that detects duplicate job postings.
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) July 6, 2010 -- TheGreenJobBank announced today the release of its new indexing and search technology that detects duplicate green job postings. It is available on the company's Green Job Search Engine.
The new technology implements a unique and first-in-kind algorithm that detects and resolves duplicate job postings from across the web. Many green job opportunities are posted to a variety of job boards, often with small but significant differences in the title, city, state, or spelling of the company name. These differences make it difficult to recognize that two postings are one and the same. The new technology solves this problem by cleaning, extracting and cataloging keywords found in the job posting.
"Job seekers don't want to see the same green job multiple times in their search results; it's confusing, time consuming and frustrating. Our new technology simplifies their task, and allows job seekers to focus on finding the right green job," said Bernard Ferret, founder and manager of TheGreenJobBank. Combined with other features, this new technology makes TheGreenJobBank one of the best green job search sites, with the largest number of unique green job openings.
In their search results, job seekers easily see all the sources from which a green job posting was indexed. If the same posting is found on the employer's website and various job boards, preference is given to the employer's posting. When job seekers click on the job title in the search results, the link sends them to the original posting on the employer site, recruiter site, or the green job board.
Launched in 2009, TheGreenJobBank is a green job search site that crawls the web and indexes green jobs from green employers, green recruiters and green job boards. The service is free for employers, recruiters and job seekers. The site currently indexes over 6,500 unique green job postings, in many green energy categories, including wind, solar, geothermal, hydro energy jobs, bio-fuels, green building, energy conservation, energy storage and energy transportation. The index is updated every day and postings are less than 60 days old. TheGreenJobBank includes many features to help job seekers manage their research process, including hundreds of green employer profiles, recruiters, discussion forums, and job sharing tools.
