The Bioenergy Department exists through the Agriculture Center of Excellence based at Walla Walla Community College in coordination with partners from Community and Technical Colleges, the business community, non-profits, universities, and government agencies in the pacific northwest.

The Agriculture Center of Excellence, in collaboration with Pacific Northwest Community and Technical Colleges, delivers Bioenergy training programs designed to produce a skilled workforce able to safely and effectively operate bioenergy production and related biomass processing facilities, and/or manage the production and delivery of associated biomass feedstocks, to generate transportation fuels, electricity, heat, recovered nutrients, soil amendments, reclaimed water, animal feed, food/nutritional products, and biochemicals.
