Green Energy Jobs Coming To NASA Michoud Facility

Blade Dynamics Bringing 600 Green Jobs As Shuttle Program Ends

Hundreds of high-paying green jobs are coming to the NASA Assembly Center in Michoud, Louisiana, breathing new life into a community that is suffering as the space shuttle program comes to an end.

Governor Bobby Jindal made the announcement Tuesday at the facility in New Orleans East. The company is Blade Dynamics, and is the maker of giant windmill blades. The company will create 600 high-paying manufacturing jobs over the next 10 years, Jindal said.

This is welcome news for a state that currently has only 26 of the almost 7,000 indexed by The Green Job Bank.
