HERS Rater training provides you with the knowledge to perform home energy ratings, a key part of the energy audit process, in one short week.
Raters have the ability to verify the energy savings that allow homeowners to qualify for energy efficient mortgages, the ENERGY STAR Homes program, and Department of Energy's Building America Program. The Rater training can be a complement to the BPI training, or can stand alone.
Our classes are taught by energy auditing experts who are fully qualified RESNET HERS Rater Trainers, chosen for their extensive practical energy auditing experience and exceptional teaching ability. Our course materials are fully approved by the RESNET committee, and are updated frequently to make sure you're getting the latest information in this quickly changing field.
The HERS Rater course consists of three days in the classroom, one day in the field, and a written test at the end. Two provisional ratings are included in the class and field work.
This course includes an overview and tutorial in REM/RATE, the popular building energy modeling software.
