The American Water Works Association is an international nonprofit educational association dedicated to safe water.
The American Water Works Association is an international nonprofit educational association dedicated to safe water. Founded in 1881 as a forum for water professionals to share information and learn from each other for the common good, AWWA is the authoritative resource for knowledge, information, and advocacy for improving the quality and supply of water in North America and beyond.
AWWA brings together people from the water community with a variety of backgrounds, skills, perspectives, and experience. Our more than 50,000 members represent every segment of the profession.
We’re small, medium, and large utilities serving rural communities and large cities. We’re manufacturers, distributors, and consultants, providing expertise and technology to customers. We’re engineers, scientists, managers, operators, and communicators.
AWWA members in North America belong to one of 43 state or multistate Sections that provide opportunities to get involved at the local level by participating in Section-sponsored events and conferences in communities where they live and/or work.
