Khosla Ventures Cleantech portfolio companies

In the past few days we setup the crawler and added the profiles for all the Khosla Ventures cleantech portfolio companies. |
That's 41 companies, and about 150 green jobs.
It was interesting to discover that only 3 Khosla-backed companies also received funding from Kleiner Perkins:
- Altarock Energy, a GeoThermal energy company.
- GreatPoint Energy, the developer of a proprietary, highly-efficient catalytic process, known as hydromethanation.
- Mascoma Corporation, a biofuels company.
I would have thought that Vinod Khosla, a former Partner at Kleiner Perkins, would co-invest more frequently with his former partners. It's probably because his investment strategy is different, such as investing in much earlier stage companies than Kleiner Perkins. That would also explain why with almost double the number of portfolio companies (41 vs. 25), his companies have only half the job openings (150) than Kleiner's companies (about 300 jobs).
